# Numbers

> Manage Fax, Voice/SMS numbers used across your Amplify workspace.

## Overview

The **Numbers** section lets you manage all phone and fax numbers connected to Amplify. From here, you can review assigned numbers, block unwanted contacts, and understand how each number type is used across your communication workflows.

Detailed setup and configuration are handled on dedicated pages for each number type.

## Number types

Amplify supports the following number types:

### Call / SMS numbers

These numbers are used for voice calls and text messaging with customers and internal teams.

### Fax numbers

Fax numbers are used to send and receive faxes digitally through Amplify.

<Note>
  A fax number can be converted into a call/SMS number if your business needs change. Conversion rules and limitations are explained on the Fax Numbers page.
</Note>

## Blocked numbers

Blocked numbers help you prevent unwanted calls, messages, or faxes.

When a number is blocked:

* Incoming communication from that number is rejected
* Blocking applies across relevant call, SMS, and fax workflows
* Changes take effect immediately

## Purchasing and porting numbers

Buying new numbers or porting existing ones into Amplify is handled separately.
