Overview

The Numbers section lets you manage all phone and fax numbers connected to Amplify. From here, you can review assigned numbers, block unwanted contacts, and understand how each number type is used across your communication workflows. Detailed setup and configuration are handled on dedicated pages for each number type.

Number types

Amplify supports the following number types:

Call / SMS numbers

These numbers are used for voice calls and text messaging with customers and internal teams. → Learn more about setup and settings in Call & SMS Numbers

Fax numbers

Fax numbers are used to send and receive faxes digitally through Amplify. → Learn more about fax configuration in Fax Numbers
A fax number can be converted into a call/SMS number if your business needs change. Conversion rules and limitations are explained on the Fax Numbers page.

Blocked numbers

Blocked numbers help you prevent unwanted calls, messages, or faxes. When a number is blocked:
  • Incoming communication from that number is rejected
  • Blocking applies across relevant call, SMS, and fax workflows
  • Changes take effect immediately

You can manage call/SMS numbers and fax numbers from the Numbers section. Each number type has its own settings and capabilities, which are configured on their respective pages.
No. A number can only be active as one type at a time. However, a fax number can be converted into a call/SMS number if your needs change.
Blocking a number prevents it from contacting you. Calls, messages, and faxes from blocked numbers are automatically rejected and will not appear in your inbox.
Yes. You can remove a number from the blocked list at any time, and inbound communication from that number will resume immediately.
